Capes Aren’t Just For Superheroes!
Sometimes a gal needs a statement piece that says, “I feel powerful today”.
Enter, the cape.
Don’t wanna be noticed? Prefer to fly under the fashion radar? Not interested in doubletakes from onlookers and incessant compliments from friends and strangers alike? Then the cape is not for you my friend.
The Fall runways were sprinkled with many examples of how to make a cape work for your street style. Here are my favorite looks from Marni, Missoni, and Salvatore Ferragamo found on Vogue.com…
If you’re looking for a classic Fall statement piece that will transcend the fickle ebb and flow of fashion trends, invest in a cape and wear it often!
Still not convinced? Take a look at these recent street style finds from Pinterest…

March Magness- Fashion Ads That Caught My Eye
Well, March came and went quickly and along with basketball it brought a flurry of fashion magazines flaunting the very best that Spring has to offer. I love this time of year! Behold my translations of a few choice advertisements… win or lose, they held my attention for longer than the average page turn!
Runway Translation: The Spring Shirt Shifter
Oh, how I love Mona Kowalska’s A Détacher Spring 2015 dresses… let me count the ways: The bohemian prints were soft and fantastical, evoking a 70’s vibe infused with clouds and rainbows and all things groovy. The shapes and fabrics were comfort driven, which makes me want to wear them all day long. The overall message was confident and relaxed, two things I strive for when selecting a day look during Spring.
Below are a few budget-friendly options that will help you to achieve the same easy, breezy vibe as the A Détacher dresses above. These are shoppable now, so if you want to get more bang for your buck throw on a pair of tights, some flatforms, a jacket, and voila… you’re Spring Shirt Shifter suddenly becomes a year-round piece!

WORTH NEW YORK Fall 2014 Trunk Show
It’s that time of year again… my favorite season is finally here! The temperatures are dropping ever so slightly, the stores are stocking up on new fall fashions, my event calendar is getting a little more active… it’s Fall Fashion time people!
I’ve been to two trunk shows in the past few days and I’m planning on attending several more in the coming weeks… not to mention the absolute bombardment of fashion shows coming up in September (Stay tuned for more about that). Anywho, let me share with you the pictures from my recent visit to the WORTH NEW YORK Fall 2014 Trunk Show that was held at my friend Angier Miller’s home. My gal pal Denise Schultz and I had the best time shopping and modeling this fabulous collection. The pieces will only be there for a limited time, but Angier did let me know that she’s happy to give private and virtual showings to any interested buyers.
Rather than bore you with lots of words about how lovely the pieces look and how wonderfully they fit and how well-constructed they are and about how the quality and craftsmanship is superior to most, why don’t I just show you the pictures? Yes?
Behold…
If you love what you see and you’d like to schedule some time with WORTH New York Agency Owner Angier Miller to shop the Fall 2014 collection email her at amiller@worthnewyork.com. The pieces will be in Tampa, Florida until August 20th, but she can hook you up with more information about how to get the best looks for Fall!
P.S.- The gorgeous make-up for this shoot was provided by Arbonne. “What’s Arbonne?” you say… well, I’m so glad you asked. It’s no secret! I’ve been using the made-from-nature line for years and my skin has never looked better. If you’re into pure, safe, and beneficial skincare email me at michelle@runwaytranslator and I’ll be happy to tell you more about how you can get your hands on some free samples 🙂
That’s it for now! Be sure to keep up with me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest cuz it’s about to get fun around here!
Summer Luxe: Red, White & Blue
I’m all about the jumpsuits lately! I love the seemingly effortless combination of comfort and sophistication, top and bottom, the easy-breezy two-for-one fabulousness of it all! Top it off with a structured tuxedo jacket… “aaaaand scene!”
