I recently had the pleasure of hosting a Spring 2015 Fashion Trend Event at Neiman Marcus. For a captive audience of budget conscious fashionistas I presented the season’s hottest offerings from the American luxury retailer.
With the assistance of models Sonya and Melissa I showed my own translations of the runway’s predominant Spring trends, brought down to earth and presented in a real-life way; fashion made easy for the everyday gals. I styled four primary trend categories in a variety of ways, showing how one could take the trend quite literally or simply incorporate select elements from each trend to achieve the look and remain current.
The New Bohemian
Jet set meets gypsy in boho blouses and tunics, distressed denim, fringe, embroidery and maxi dresses…
Bold hues inspired by the organic rainbow of colors found in the spice markets of India…
On The White Side
From bright white to sand, this head-to-toe palette reads modern and sophisticated…
Other Spring 2015 Trends at Neiman Marcus (also shown above):
Long, Layered Necklaces
The Bucket Bag

Many thanks to Kim Biehl, General Manager of Neiman Marcus and Robert Roubideaux for having me…
Many thanks to my photographer Tasia Hron for capturing these images! There’s a video too which will be posted on my YouTube channel soon. Thanks also to Khadijah Brooks for making me look my best with Kevyn Aucoin make-up!

It’s that time of year again… my favorite season is finally here! The temperatures are dropping ever so slightly, the stores are stocking up on new fall fashions, my event calendar is getting a little more active… it’s Fall Fashion time people!
I’ve been to two trunk shows in the past few days and I’m planning on attending several more in the coming weeks… not to mention the absolute bombardment of fashion shows coming up in September (Stay tuned for more about that). Anywho, let me share with you the pictures from my recent visit to the WORTH NEW YORK Fall 2014 Trunk Show that was held at my friend Angier Miller’s home. My gal pal Denise Schultz and I had the best time shopping and modeling this fabulous collection. The pieces will only be there for a limited time, but Angier did let me know that she’s happy to give private and virtual showings to any interested buyers.
Rather than bore you with lots of words about how lovely the pieces look and how wonderfully they fit and how well-constructed they are and about how the quality and craftsmanship is superior to most, why don’t I just show you the pictures? Yes?
If you love what you see and you’d like to schedule some time with WORTH New York Agency Owner Angier Miller to shop the Fall 2014 collection email her at email@example.com. The pieces will be in Tampa, Florida until August 20th, but she can hook you up with more information about how to get the best looks for Fall!
P.S.- The gorgeous make-up for this shoot was provided by Arbonne. “What’s Arbonne?” you say… well, I’m so glad you asked. It’s no secret! I’ve been using the made-from-nature line for years and my skin has never looked better. If you’re into pure, safe, and beneficial skincare email me at michelle@runwaytranslator and I’ll be happy to tell you more about how you can get your hands on some free samples 🙂
Be ready for plenty of international influence in fashion this Spring buying season! One of the most popular fashion trends for Spring takes its colorful inspiration from traditional tribal garments found in exotic lands around the globe…
If wearing an African Aso-Oke (traditional dress and hat wrap) is not your style, you can still become an honorary style tribe member and tap into this trend by incorporating a touch of print into your ensemble. Check out my runway translation below…
This look revolves around the ballet flats by Shola Designs… notice the fun African motif. When paired with a black wrap top, linen shorts, and woven handbag these comfy flats provide the perfect touch of tribal inspiration for a cohesive look that’s subtle and on trend. *Shop the look below.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Shola’s designer, Shola Yusuf, at a Trunk Show hosted by Farrah Estrella of Estrella Fashion Report. Shola is a local entrepreneur here in Tampa and originally hails from Nigeria. I love her premier collection of shoes! So much in fact that I couldn’t resist buying a gorgeous pair of turquoise platform stilettos. I can’t wait to feature them in a future blog post. Check out Shola’s beautiful traditional African ensemble…

*Fun Fashion Factoid:
“Traditional African clothing is generally very colorful. These colors actually have meaning. The yellows and golds tend to mean wealth and fertility because it is the color of a precious metal and the yolk of an egg. Red is viewed as the color of blood and tension. Blue is the color of peace and love. Green is the color of life and prosperity.” ~Ask.com
How lucky am I that this is what I do? I get lots of calls for blogging ideas… well, not lots, but a few… once or twice. Anyway, when Worth New York- Tampa Agency Owner Angier Miller called about her Fall collection hanging on freshly set-up racks in her South Tampa showroom, I got that warm and fuzzy fashion feeling. Worth New York is a couture-quality line of separates… I own one of their dresses and it’s timeless. As I learned while styling a few of my favorite looks, these pieces are not only luxurious and well-made, this year’s Fall collection is deceivingly lightweight, which rocks for this Florida girl.
The tapestry pencil skirt above is much lighter than it looks, and I love the overdose of prints in this work-perfect ensemble. Below, the clever cape blouse and animal print slim pants serve as the backdrop for a bold pop of color. And the long sleeve chiffon shirt dress with sheer panels spoke to me. It said, “I’m here. Where’s my martini?”…
The Worth New York 2013 Trunk Show is going on now through Wednesday, August 21 at the home of Angier Miller. Call 813.368.1561 , email firstname.lastname@example.org, or Facebook message Angier to schedule a time to preview the collection.
