“The 7th Year Stitch”
I’ve attended this annual runway show every year since it’s launch seven years ago, and it truly gets better each time! Nancy Vaughn and her team at Tampa Bay Fashion Week have done an amazing job elevating the fashion scene here in the Bay Area. This year’s event benefits Becca’s Closet, an organization that donates prom gowns and scholarships to high school girls with financial need.
Thirteen talented designers showcased their Spring/Summer 2015 Collections on the runway at the Hilton in Downtown Tampa on September 17th. The scene was electric! Flash bulbs lit up the ballroom as the front rows were riddled with a veritable who’s who of local celebrities and supporters of this thriving fashion community. Leading the night’s stroll through style were the funny and charming Anji Corley from HSN and Jorge Alvarado from The Jorge Show.
Here are my top picks from each designer…
Sanford-Brown College Student Designer Showcase
Gabriela Dobreva, Katarzyna Zuzak, Maria C. Logdeser, Laura Hoyos
KalaXpress by Sumita Bhojwani
Slacker by Kato Kaelin
Lolodaisy by Lorena
With friends Emily and Paola, and with designer Elizabeth Carson Racker
Yet another shrewd genius move on the part of the FWTB team was the addition of the use of Luevo.com, giving us fashion-obsessed consumers a great way to shop the looks right off the runway! Um, yes please! Go ahead, check it out… and buy you some Tampa fashion!
What I Wore: Max and Cleo dress from Rehab Exchange Boutique, Gianni Bini shoes and black clutch from my closet, long pearl necklace doubled and tied into a knot from Deborah Kent’s.
I’d like to thank my awesome fashion photographer Tasia Hron for capturing all of the fashionable moments you see above. Stay tuned for new posts I’m working on about the CITY Fashion Event at the Tampa Museum of Art and the St. Pete Art & Fashion Week runway shows… they were spectacular! Bye for now!
